our goal

We’re excited to have you here! Our goal is to provide accurate information, resources, and support for service dog handlers and individuals interested in learning more about training and working with these extraordinary animals. Service dogs play a vital role in the lives of many people with disabilities, and we strive to foster understanding, respect, and appreciation for these dedicated animals and their handlers.

My Personal Journey into Service Dog Training

As a certified companion animal behaviorist and an experienced dog trainer with 30 years of experience, my passion for helping animals and their owners has always been a driving force in my life. However, in recent years, my personal experiences have led me to focus on a new mission: making service dog training more accessible and understandable for those who need it most.

For the past 15 years, I have been the sole caregiver for my disabled mother and sister. Additionally, I was diagnosed with late-onset MS and am losing the use of my left leg. As I searched for guidance and specific instructions on training my own service dog, I realized that there was a lack of comprehensive and practical resources available.

This personal journey has inspired me to create a platform that provides all the information needed to help others who wish to train their own service dogs. By sharing my experiences and the knowledge I have gained along the way, I hope to make the process of training a service dog more approachable, empowering, and successful for everyone who embarks on this important journey.

At Doggedly, our mission is to empower individuals to “unleash the service dog within” their canine companions, including rescue dogs and puppies.

We understand that many people do not have the financial resources to pay for already trained service dogs, or want to wait on lengthy waiting lists for free service dogs.

By offering comprehensive, easy-to-follow training guides, expert insights, and unbiased reviews, we strive to provide our community with the knowledge and resources needed to make informed decisions about their service dog training journey.

We are dedicated to fostering a supportive environment that encourages strong bonds between handlers and their service dogs, ultimately enhancing independence, improving the quality of life, and promoting the benefits of affordable, self-directed training.
